How are you spending your last weekend in March? The weather forecast shows that it is a weekend for partaking in activities indoors, but no fret, there’s much to do that will keep the hungry, the brave and the curious busy. All you have to do is get out and explore. Don’t forget that this Saturday, March 30th is Earth Hour from 8:30pm – 9:30pm. Join those across the globe and turn off your lights for one hour –have a candlelit dinner, or cosy up on the couch with a blanket and share stories with your kids, partner, or friends. Have fun this weekend, and see you next weekend at the Hamilton Spring Home and Garden Show– we can’t wait to meet you, and talk all things gardens and home.
For those with little ones that need to burn off some energy, head to Zoom Zoom’s, an indoor playground in Ancaster. Zoom Zoom’s playground structure is designed so parents can play with their kids or, sit in a comfortable chair and read the paper. There is a large cafeteria style eating area with coffee, drinks and snacks for sale; guests are also welcome to bring their own drinks and nut-free snacks.
After the kiddos are tucked away for the night (with a babysitter nearby, of course ☺), enjoy a bit of adult time and dine at Cavallo Nero. Unwind with a glass of wine, a delicious meal and enjoy live music on Saturday evenings.
You still have a few weekends left to see all things creepy and crawling at the Royal Botanical Gardens Spiders Alive! exhibit. Explore over 17 species of spiders and other many-legged creatures, with special events and daily programs for all ages.
It’s Friday, you worked hard this week, and all you want to do is unwind and maybe party. (We don’t blame you!) Head to the Mule where tacos, tequila and bourbon come to party. Then put on your dancing shoes and head to Sous Bas – you get to sleep in so stay out past your bedtime – and have fun at this dance party.
Maybe you had a bit too much fun Friday night (no such thing), so start your morning slow with breakfast at the Harbour Diner on James Street South, and then recline on one comfy lounger while watching a movie at Jackson Square.
Around the Bay Road Race is this Sunday – the oldest race in North America. Get out and cheer for those running through Hamilton and Burlington, or if you are driving through either city, please note that there will be road closures.
It’s that last weekend to indulge in the sweet goodness that is known as maple syrup. Put on your wellies, and jackets, and head to Westfield Heritage Village or Bronte Creek Provincial Park for a pancake breakfast. If you want to skip the outdoors, but are craving pancakes, then dine at the Maple Leaf Pancake House.
