Hot off the Press: Weekend Events

If last night’s snowfall didn’t put you in the festive mood, then this list of holiday happenings throughout Burlington and Hamilton sure will. For those not quite ready to say hello to the cold, we have a little Dundas recommendation for you as well. Have fun experiencing what our communities have in store this weekend.


Winter Lights at the Rock, November 17th to December 30th, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.  at RBG’s Rock Garden

Thousands of festive lights lead you through a winter wonderland of charming Christmas melodies, festive sips and bites. This unique holiday experience is one not to be missed! Buy your tickets in advance for $10, or $15 at the door. The event runs Thursdays – Sundays from November 17th to December 30th. https://www.rbg.ca/winterlights


Hamilton’s Santa Claus Parade, Saturday, November 17th, 4:30 p.m.

Santa is coming to town this Saturday, so gather your family for this exciting evening. Don’t forget to bring your letters to Santa as you’ll have the chance to hand them to the jolly man yourself. The parade route starts at the corner of Bay St North and Barton St West and will end at the corners of James St N and Barton St East. http://hamiltonsantaparade.com


A Christmas Event at Ireland House Museum, Sunday, November 18th, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Celebrate historic holiday traditions this season with a holiday tour of the Ireland House. Enjoy treats made on the hearth, horse-drawn wagon rides, crafts, roasted marshmallows and reindeer. Admission is $10. https://museumsofburlington.ca/posts/241-a-christmas-event-at-ireland-house


Makeology: Sunday, November 18th, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Art Gallery of Hamilton

Support local artisans and crafts-people and shop this high-end curated craft show for holiday gifts or for yourself. Admission is $5 and includes access to the Art Gallery. Tip: Bring cash, as there is no ATM on site, however, most vendors accept credit cards. https://www.makeology.ca/holiday18/
